Becoming a Member
You may be eligible for membership if you:
- Are enrolled in Graduate School in a degree-granting program.
- Have received a graduate degree.
- Are a faculty member interested in encouraging graduate students.
If you meet any of these criteria, then please consider joining our distinguished membership.
Advantages of Membership
Nationally, members are entitled to:
- Receive Phi Delta Gamma publications, including the newsletter and the JOURNAL, a refereed showcase of membership talent and achievement.
- Attend regional meetings and biennial national conventions to promote the work of the organization, and to encourage personal and scholarly contacts beyond the limits of the chapter.
- Apply for a STUDY GRANT given every two years to an active member who is pursuing work beyond the first 30 hours of graduate study.
- Be considered for the NATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD presented at each convention to a member in recognition of outstanding achievement in a chosen profession.
Locally, chapters:
- Offer opportunities for members to expand their network of academic and professional associates.
- Enrich the graduate experience by encouraging the development of mentor relationships.
- Provide stimulating speakers and activities at regular meetings.
- Grant scholarships, loans, and educational awards.
